Ordinance Sunday

We had a wonderful weekend at our house. Creed was ordained an elder and Jed and Cally blessed baby Grey.

Saturday night Dad and Mom and Anette's parents stayed at our house. Sunday we all went to sacrament meeting together and afterward we met at our house for Creed's event. With all of the family, the bishop, the home teachers and the high councilman I think there were about 20 people. Then we had a quick dinner and it was time for round two.

Three of Jed's brothers were here for the baby blessing, plus all of our family so it was also a good crowd. Grey was good and only cried a little. Afterward we had dessert and people started to head home.

This morning we woke up to six inches of snow. We had about a week and a half of really nice
weather and then winter came back. We are hoping to making down to Lake Powell in a couple of weeks for spring break, but we need it to warm up first because we will be camping.

I was hoping to have had the boat out by now, but it keeps getting snowed on. I wish Al Gore could get his global warming underway.

Spring Break in Indiana

This past week has been spring break week here in Madison. (Why they didn't cancel Spring Break when school has to go two extra weeks in the summer I don't pretend to understand.) So we did a few fun things. The first two pictures are from the War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis. We stopped there while we were in town for Isaac's State Science Olympiad competition. The third picture is from one of the events at that competition. It was called the junkyard challenge, and Isaac had to build a scale from a box of "junk," and then measure an unknown mass. The fourth picture is from the Frazier International History Museum in Louisville, that we visited on Thursday. And the last picture is Isaac at his induction into the National Honor Society last week.

Back to normal

Grey came off oxygen yesterday and seems to be a normal, healthy baby again. He was wide-eyed and looking around last night when I saw him. Harvey was also very happy.

We are having a very warm spring. My magnolias will be in full bloom by the weekend. That is usually the time we get some snow to turn the blossoms brown.

Latest update

Grey got to come home from the hospital Friday night. He is still on Oxygen and has to go to the hospital three or four times a day to have his lungs suctioned. Anette has been tending Harvey. Cally, Jed Harvey and Grey all spent much of the weekend at our house so there was plenty of help to take care of Harvey and the baby.

We had stake conference this weekend. Creed got sustained to be an elder as did several of his friends. We'll be doing his ordination on the 29th. We were also going to bless Grey then, but that is likely to be pushed back now.

More about Grey

Grey has RSV and the doctor says he will have to stay in the hospital until at least Saturday. He wants to make certain he is completely better before he sends him home, so it could be longer. Cally is staying at the hospital and the rest of us are taking turns watching Harvey. It is sad to see such a little baby so sick.

Sick baby

Little Grey is sick and in the hospital. He has a respiratory virus so they have him on oxygen and are suctioning his lungs every couple of hours. They admitted him last night after they could not keep his blood oxygen level high enough. He is doing much better this morning. I went by to see him before work. He has a lot of tubes and wires attached which is sad to see.

Harvey and Cally have also been sick but are doing better. Cally is staying at the hospital with Grey so she can feed and take care of him. He is still eating and growing. He never lost weight at birth and is 9-7 now.

Reunion

Denisa, has indicated the week of 22 June for the reunion. Probably the 22, 23 and 24th. Does this meet every ones schedule? We will stay with Denisa or LaDawn and if there isn't enough room there are several motels in the area If this is acceptable we will plan on seeing every one then.

Birthday

Dear family,

Thank you for remembering my birthday, but at my age I would just as soon forget it.
Flint, Anette and creed came up Saturday and Jenine and Brandon came up on Sunday to celebrate my birthday with us. They brought a new hummingbird feeder and a bunch of snacking goodies. We had home made Lasagna, Angle food cake and strawberries for dinner. We mainly just sat around and enjoyed the company. I took a couple of pictures which I will try to attach. Flint got the blog back working again. Creed was studying our book on the Galaxies and Flint was engaged in watching a soccer game, I'm sure you can see how engaged Flint was.

Love to All,
Dad

Happy Birthday yesterday, Dad!

Hope you had a good birthday. I've been sick and completely forgot it was your birthday until late at night.

Here's a couple of pictures. Elaine and Lynette playing twister, with Kent Milberger and Rachel in the background.

The other is from a scout activity. We had our scout trailer stolen from the church parking lot. Word got out, and this motorcycle club donated a new trailer and gear, plus $1000 towards new gear. The ward put on a BBQ dinner for them in thanks. Can you find James in the picture?
