Craig's Adventure

The day before Trek, Craig headed up to the younger kids' scout camp. He got there just in time for the big storms to start. He got some very cool lightning pictures! He also got very wet!

The tents were the kind that sit on rebar-reinforced platforms. During the night, one of the leaders in another tent could tell his tent wasn't going to hold much longer, so he told the boys to get out. They all got out, but the tent flipped before the leader got out. He was pinned for awhile under the platform. He told the boys he was going home, but I guess he really went to the doctor. Craig doesn't know how badly he was injured because he wasn't in our troop and he didn't want his boys to be any more freaked out than they already were.

After that all happened, camp was normal. Craig mostly talks about the bad food!

Great storm pictures.
I hope the leader is alright. He sounds like a good leader and I hope the parents appreciate how well he took care of the boys.

This reminds me of our stormy campout last year, where the wind broke our tent pole and the falling tree smashed the picnic tables in the campsite next to ours. I didn't get any cool storm pictures though, just pictures of soggy sleeping bags hung up to dry.
