We said goodbye to Striper yesterday. His kidneys weren't working and there was nothing left to do for him. He wasn't eating and was throwing up everything he drank. He was miserable. So, I held him in my arms as the vet injected euthanol into a vein in his leg.
His heart stopped beating even before the injection was done. It was a very sad day for us. He has been part of our family for 12 years—longer than two of the kids!
These pictures are from his better days. In the last few months he had lost a lot of weight and looked like he was all skin and bones.
