Well, James went back to school on August 8th and today is his last day of August term. Then he'll start the regular fall term on Monday. He is attending Richland Collegiate High School, which is a charter high school at a local community college. He should graduate with a high school diploma and an Associates Degree. It is a rigorous program and should keep him pretty busy for the next two years.
We'll start our homeschool with the girls on Monday, also. They are not happy about that. They have enjoyed playing with their friends day in and day out!
We do have a new household member again, though it is still undecided as to whether she will be a permanent addition. Tuesday evening as I was driving home with Lynette and Rachel after dropping James and Elaine at the temple, I passed what I thought at first was a dead baby bunny, only when I looked down at it, its head moved. It was a tiny gray kitten. I quickly looked behind me to make sure there were no cars directly behind me (this was in rush hour traffic on a six lane road!), I stopped, jumped out, scooped her up, and jumped back in the car. Fortunately, she didn't run from me. She was too shocked and scared to move. I can't imagine how she got there. I wonder if one of the cars in front of me dropped her out of a window. She couldn't have been there very long or she would have been squashed.
She has a sprained back leg, a scrape on the nose, and some fleas, otherwise she is healthy. The vet and I guess she is about 6 weeks old. When we offered her food, she didn't know what to do with it at first, so I'm not sure she was even weaned yet.
She seems to be adjusting well. She purrs very loudly and is starting to walk around and explore a bit more. Our only problem is the dog. Lately she has become a good rat exterminator. And the kitten is about the same size and color as the rats she has been killing. We're hoping we can teach her that kittens are "friends, not food!"
Well, the kids are bugging me to come play Upwords with them.

The cat is one lucky cat to end up in such a great home. Sounds like James is on his way to fame, success and fortune. Go James
